Personal Data and Cookies

Personal data includes anything that can identify you personally; name, address, social security number, e-mail, etc. Besides personal data, we also use cookies. Cookies are small files sent to your computer via the browser (unless you turn off cookies) when you visit a website. Their function is to collect information about how you as a visitor use a website, often in order to offer custom content. Cookies are a bit special since the Swedish Data Protection Authority (who heads the Data Protection Act in Sweden) has not decided whether or not they are considered personal data.

Although cookies have not been legally included in the Data Protection Act on Personal Data, we consider them to be so important to your privacy that we treat them as such. And it’s important that we store your data for you! Read more below about why.

Why does Texi store your personal data and cookies?

The idea behind Texi’s website is to deliver as good and informative an experience to our visitors as possible. We want to be able to present customized guides, in-depth information and relevant articles, which are customized to each person who uses the site. In order for us to do that, we track what our visitors click on the page and what guides they download. This allows us to provide suggestions for further reading within the specific subject or related areas. This tracking is done using cookies. Of course, it’s possible to use our website without cookies. However, the experience will not be as personal and relevant as it is supposed to be.

If at any time you leave your e-mail address for us during a visit to our site, the cookie will be linked to your email address. This allows us to send suggestions on in-depth reading within the area you are interested in, such as guides, articles, and blog posts, if you consent.
