The project aims to develop new approaches for healthcare \u2013 by testing new techniques, materials, and methods to reduce infection spreading.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The issue with healthcare-associated infections is something we\u2019ve <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.texisys.com\/en\/better-textile-logistics-save-lives\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brought attention to several times before here in our blog<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The main reason for our engagement is because this is such an immense and complex problem that affects the entire healthcare industry. It\u2019s a global issue that harvests almost 16 million lives every year, while putting enormous pressure on the already scarce resources within healthcare. It also accelerates the formation of multi-resistant bacteria, which in itself is a huge societal challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anders Bergfeldt, CEO at Texi, addresses the issue:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe know the challenges that healthcare is facing every day regarding healthcare-associated infections. To put an end to it, every part of the care system must work together \u2013 from patient contact to textile management and cleaning. Therefore it goes without saying that we at Texi need to contribute to this project within our field of expertise regarding hygienic and safe handling of work clothes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Project goals<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is divided into three parts \u2013 where the final goal is a \u201cvision zero\u201d regarding healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance throughout the healthcare industry. A joint responsibility is crucial in achieving this.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project objectives are summarized in the following points:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Lower incidence of healthcare-associated infections<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and infectious agents within healthcare.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Lower costs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and better utilization of resources due to reduced healthcare-associated infections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Higher patient safety<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and better accessibility for patients and users.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>A better work environment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for all healthcare personnel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>A new view of service staff <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as a central part of hygiene control and healthcare personnel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Cleaning development <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through product innovations and evidence-based methods.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI believe that we, through this project, can help create safer healthcare, where we won\u2019t need to waste valuable resources to cure infections caused by the work itself.
